The Mont Blanc range is really the Mordor, it is always bad weather. It’s dead for “Les Miages”. To ward off the fate and especially because “Les Ecrins”, it is the most beautiful massif of France 😉 and that it is always beautiful, direction Ailefroide. After a delicious lunch at the chalet hotel of Ailfroide, Cécile and I attack the vertical drop to the refuge of the Glacier Blanc. The next day the weather is perfect. Ascent to Col du Monêtier, Col du Tucket on a well frozen snow. The ridge is very dry and it is a pleasure to the top. As expected, beautiful clouds encompass Mont Blanc range. Descent is a formality, a 40m rope with a 40m dyneema allow an intelligent abseil at the foot of the ridge.
